Kind of how I felt when my beloved Montreal Canadiens lost to Washington in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs last month. I SWORE that I would be okay with it, that the Habs had overachieved even by making the playoffs, yet as the second ticked down on Game Five, I grew increasingly morose. By the end of the game, I was miserable.
Listen, I, too, cried after Game 2. Actually, I croed!!! I broke down!!! That feeling you described from those tough, heartbreaking 7 rebuild years -- oh, that crept in. But I'm going to choose to believe in Boston. It's all we've got.
I cried in the shower
You are not a better person when your team wins, you are not a worse person when your team loses.
Very wise, Michael!!
Or is this just the way I have learned to deal with Boston and Liverpool fans?
I can only hope the Eagles fans in my life could be so self reflective as to check their sports privilege.
My head understands that the world is on fire and this is the least important thing to cry about. My heart, though…🤡
me when Georgia got knocked out of the CFP playoffs 😅 we’ve had two back-to-back national titles but I want more!!!
Will say that as someone who was born in New York and loves Spike Lee, I am wholeheartedly rooting for the Knicks 😛

Exactly
it’s bad!!
This totally endearing post may just be my favorite of yours ever!!!
I’m so glad some joy can come out of this epic Celtics collapse 😉 love you!!
Oh alas, Charlotte, you were not alone in your agony last night!!
I also yelled fuck to the TV and got irate. It comes from a place of privilege.
They’ll win game 3 and they’ll rope you back in! Then they’ll break your heart.
That final line. lol. Excellent work.
