Lebatard Show person here who still follows and reads these. Personally, as I can't speak for others. This is the dopest shit I've read from you Charlotte. I need this to be read everywhere. What makes me sad is that logic would be destroyed and idiotic commentary would follow this amazing piece of writing and family history you shared with us. Just keep rocking, wow. Also, miss you on the show lol, selfishly 🤘🏾

Thank you for this. Beautifully done and said and could not have been easy for a multitude of reasons. Important now more than ever to listen to the past and learn from it and those who went before. Again. Thank you.

Thank you, Paul. Hugo said it better than I could so I figured he'd be okay with it if I borrowed his words

Thank you for writing this. I signed this yesterday. Kinda crazy that being for human rights and not murdering people is taking a stand these days.

Followed you because of your podcast and the immense joy that it brings me every week, but I'm going to continue to follow you because of this. Thank you for using your voice, for standing on business, and for making sure that the people who follow you can be assured that you're on the right side of history. Free Palestine.

I also love the letters included, thank you for sharing this specific part of your family's history. How special and what a privilege it is to be able to witness his words.

Love you down!

I once heard it said that “the South may have lost the war, but won the peace,” and I haven’t been the same since.

I've been following you and reading your work for years Charlotte, and this is way up at the top of the list of your best work. It's probably number one if I'm being honest. (Though I always go back and read your Demolition Derby piece at the end of every summer). Thanks, as always, for your words.

And scariest of all, imo, is that there is a large portion of our citizenry that is applauding what is going on.

Charlotte, I can only say how profoundly moved I was by this post. It was not what I expected and so much more than I needed. I will send this on to as many people as I can, and hope that it reaches someone who will be newly awake to the horrors of our current situation. Thank you.

Stick to sports. Or jokes. Or Belichick's wife. Or profoundly relevant family tokens that remind us to cherish why we live, fight, and cry. Just write free.

I am a fan of your writing which is always infused with great humor. Not easy to do! I am also a regular listener to the Sports Gossip Show. I am glad however that you took a moment to write this very serious piece . It was beautifully written. Thank you

Intriguing, the entire opening made me think that you would have taken a completely different direction. Hitler won because the inverted victim logic won. The Nazis felt victimized, they lamented the tragedy that had befallen them and they built a righteous ethical and moral code that would turn the Jew into the symbol of evil, building their Nazi personality against the Jewish foil, the embodiment of everything they opposed. Hamas has now done the same thing. If you look to blame Israel for 50,000 dead without looking at how many combatants have died then you are basically a person without any moral discernment. The same Nazi ruse has happened all over again. Preferring virtue signaling to actual virtue, you oppose all war because war means death, even the death of innocents. But the alternative is to allow evil to triumph. Hitler may have won the metaphysical war but Hamas has won the real war... Because their strategy was always to sacrifice its own people to manipulate the Western masses abroad. And no one cares how many actual Jews die along the way, because they are not humans anymore they are morally depraved Zionists
